Casual game network questions value of 'hits driven' store.
Sidney Mock, the CCO of the world’s leading casual games network SPIL Games, has stated that whilst the world and its dog if clamouring to get its content onto the Apple App Store, SPIL doesn’t necessarily see it as the right space for its content.
“Like everyone, we are looking iPhone and the App store,” Mock stated in Part Two of ME sister site CasualGaming’biz’s three-part interview. “The App Store is a great success, but it’s increasingly built on hits, and I’m not sure if we want to be in a hits driven marketplace.
“There are companies who are very good at leveraging this method, but we’re good at other things. I like the iPhone, and iPhone users are over-performing on mobile internet use. The majority of phones have poor internet browsers, and we want to target the mass market, so we need to tackle that.”
