App Store developers combined to generate revenue exceeding $10bn in 2014, Apple has announced.
The figure marks a new annual record for Apple's digital shop, and it brings the cumulative total for developer revenue to more than $25bn since the App Store's launch in 2008.
“This year is off to a tremendous start after a record-breaking year for the App Store and our developer community,” said Apple senior VP if Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue.
“We're so proud of the creativity and innovation developers bring to the apps they create for iOS users and that the developer community has now earned over $25 billion.”
Apple also revealed New Year's day saw the biggest ever day of sales in the history of the App Store, adding that revenue of nearly $500m has come in during the first week of 2015.
