ViewSonic has unveiled a new ten-inch tablet, which it claims is the first to run dual operating systems.
The ViewPad 100 incorporates a full version of Windows 7 Home Premium, as well as Google Android 1.6, supposedly making it the only dual-boot tablet.
Users can quickly check emails or browse the web with Google’s operating system, while also enjoying some of the upsides of a Windows PC, such as USB connectivity, video output, Adobe Flash support and the ability to create presentations and word documents.
Other features of the ViewPad 100 include a 16GB SSD, an Intel Atom N455 1.66Ghz processor with 1GB DDR3 RAM, a ten-inch capacitive multi-touch LED display, wi-fi and bluetooth connections, Micro SD slot, assisted GPS and built-in webcam.
ViewSonic is also showing the ViewPad 7 for the first time in Europe at IFA. It is a seven-inch Android tablet with a slew of features including 3G and wi-fi connectivity, front and back-facing cameras and USB connectivity.
