iPhones account for 28 per cent of phones stolen every year, which is perhaps what encouraged protective father Scott McPherson to develop the Spraytect phone case, an iPhone cover that projects pepper spray at assailants.
McPherson spent a year developing the product for his daughter as part of a 'nurturing desire for her protection'.
Available in a number of colours (black, white, blue, pink) for the fashion-conscious buyer, the spray ingredients are made from 'a proprietary blend of peppers with one of the hottest, habanero pepper, as the main ingredient'.
Beyond blinding baddies though, the case also sports a 'fantastic bonus' in the form of a kickstand to support comfortable movie viewing.
The cases retail an introductory price of $39.95.
