Arabic news broadcaster Al Jazeera is streaming its English-language channel to iPhones via a new app.
The application costs £1.79 in the UK App Store, and lets users stream the channel over 3G or Wi-Fi, with the quality of the stream varying accordingly.
The stream is a live feed, making it one of the first news broadcasters to provide this, rather than pre-packaged video clips.
However, there appear to be teething problems. A warning on its App Store product page advises owners of the new iPhone 3GS not to buy the app until its next update, due to an "incompatibility".
Users are also being warned about the costs of using the app over 3G when abroad, since every 10 minutes of viewing will require 7.2MB of data.
O2 UK charges £2.94 per MB of data used while roaming abroad in Western Europe, meaning that an hour of Al Jazeera over 3G would cost iPhone owners £17.64.
