Acer will release six new smartphones in 2013 – one will run Windows Phone 8 and the other five will run on Android platforms.
The entry-level models will feature chips from MediaTek while the higher end phones will have dual-core CPUs from Qualcomm.
The handsets will be released in Europe and sell through existing sales channels. Acer is also looking towards China and Southeast Asia, specifically at Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and India, which are some of the key growth markets in that region.
It is reported that as of next year Acer smartphones will be manufactured mainly by ODMs Qisda and Compal.
