Apple has this week revealed that iTunes users have downloaded one billion TV episodes and 380 million movies from iTunes to date, with consumers purchasing over 800,000 episodes and 350,000 movies every day.
With over 60,000 films and 230,000 TV episodes to choose from in addition to its extensive music library, Apple TV has also announced that it has signed up HBO GO and WatchESPN. It also offers content from Hulu Plus, Netflix, live sport from MLB, NBA and NHL, as well as Internet content from Vimeo, YouTube and Flickr.
HBO GO offers its users access to their favourite shows, including HBO originals, movies, sports documentaries, comedies and more. The app and Apple TV channel also has bonus features and behind-the-scenes extras.
Meanwhile, WatchESPN on Apple TV has access to ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNU, ESPN 3 and ESPN buzzer Beater/Goal Line as part of an individual subscription from subscribed suppliers.
