comScore has reported US smartphone subscriber figures for the three-month period ending April 2013. Data shows that 58 per cent (138.5 million) of Americans own a smartphone, which is a seven per cent increase since January.
Samsung is continually named as the world's most popular OEM, but Apple is still king in the States and secured a 39.2 per cent market share, compared to Samsung on 22 per cent and HTC on 8.9 per cent.
That said, Google is the leader in the OS stakes, with its system coursing through the devices of Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG and beyond. Indeed, Android nailed a 52 per cent share – a 0.3 per cent decline – followed by iOS with 39.2 per cent and BlackBerry on 5.1 per cent. Check out the tables below.
